[langtitle=no]Bower 14mm f/2.8 and Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 v. the Pentax SMCP-[/langtitle]

Anyone has any experience with either the Bower or the Rokinon super wide angel lens mentioned above? I've not been able to find any reviews in the forum.

And how are this lenses compared with the Pentax 14mm lens?

Thank you for any help,

I can't help much, just that the Pentax is autofocus and the Bower-Rokinon-Spiratone-etc is manual focus. Then there's the cost difference, of course.

For starters the first 2 are the same lens with different label, search for samyang and you'll have more luck. It's a very good lens by all accounts.

Your questions concerns the Samyang 14mm 2.8, which is sold as Rokinon/Bower/Opteka/Vivitar/Falcon/Pro-Optic. The maker (Samyang) is a South Korean firm.
The lens is extremely sharp at all apertures, but it has a quite pronounced barrel distortion (5%) on APS-C, and it is heavy (550 grams vs. the 420 grams of the DA 14mm).
Photozone has a good review of it: Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical - APS-C Review / Test Report
And this is a nice Canon thread with pics taken with this lens: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=909272

Thank you, I guess I reveal myself as a amateur for not knowing that

The DA14 is close focusing, AF, can use filters and it is beter in reflection resistance due to SMC. I use it a lot, I don't think I'd use Samyang 14mm that much.
