Pentax 50-200mm, vs Sigma 70-300 dg macro

I've done some test with those 2 lens.( they are both f4-5.6) At 200mm, the color are similar on both. but when I use the Sigma at 300mm, the color are faded.
Really desapointed, I think I gonna put a for sale sign on it.

If you want a cheap way to reach 300mm then choose the DA55-300. It won't disappoint. But I'm using the DA50-200 as well - small and light

I found the Pentax was only very slightly sharper and had more contrast than the Sigma. The Pentax 55-300 is significantly better.

I haven't had that problem with my copy of the same lens. Is yours new enough that you can exchange it for another copy?

APO DG isn't likely to be much better at 300. I bought the APO DG version of the lens with my K10 years ago and can point out that the issue is likely with softness at 300mm at lower apertures. That said, at high apertures, the lens wakes up.

Have you tested the lens at high apertures? Perhaps f8-F11 or higher?
