Voigtlander Nokton 35 f1.2 Asph experience?

Voigtlander Nokton 35 f1.2 Asph

Can anyone post some comment on this piece of glass?
Price range to be expected?
Usable at f1.2? f1.4?
Possible to convert M-mount to K-mount?

Best regards

I take it the M mount is Leica M, in that case no way will it be convertable fue to the register distance, which would leave you with a rather expensive macro lens. I have no personal experience of the lens.

As xjjohno mentioned it is impossible to use a Leica M lens on a K mount body, however on the Leica M8/M9 it is a really good lens, of all of voigtlander M mount lenses the Nokton 35mm f/1.2 ASPH has the rendering that is closest to Leica - probably because of the inclusion of an aspherical element which is becoming more common amongst fast 35mm lenses for M mount. The construction of the Nokton 35mm f/1.2 is superb - it feels slightly sturdier than the other voigtlander lenses I have used in the past. At f/1.2 there is of course lower contrast and the bokeh can get a bit fugly (the coma in the corners doesn't really help with this) but when it's stopped down a bit f/2~f/2.8 it is on par with the Leica-M Summilux 35mm f/1.4 ASPH. Also the rotatable petal lens hood is really useful (I don't like the vented hood it blocks the viewfinder) - I wish pentax had come up with that idea with the FA31mm f/1.8 ASPH Limited,

Ricoh GXR A12 "mount" should a great way to enjoy this lens if you don't have the Leica of the money to buy one.

Bear in mind the A12 Leica-M mount module from Ricoh contains an APS-C format sensor. The Leica M9 is Full frame (36X24mm sensor) - and the Leica M8 is APS-H which is still larger than APS-C. And from what I have seen of the Ricoh camera a lens like the Voigtlander 35mm f/1.2 ASPH is going to seriously unbalance the camera....I hate to think of how the Ricoh GXR would handle with the Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 ASPH on it.

How about the Voigtlander Ultron 40 f2 aspherical? $499 at Adorama and in K mount. It's a great lens.

Wouldn't it be a really long focal length (equivalent) on the Q?

I could get a sony nex with an adapter. Personally, i prefer slr style. Focusing at f1.2 is hard by itself. Harder with range finder and live view. Fast glasses always have a drag on me. Just a moment of weakness - LBA disorder almost got me... But it would be awesome if one can find one in other mount that can be converted to dslr

Nex is cheap, but it doesn't perform well with wide M lenses - see photozone. Center of frame is great, but on borders there are color casts, heavy vignetting and loss of reslution. Ricoh GXR sensor has microlenses with offset as well as M Leicas, so there it is OK.
