Sigma 18-50 F2.8 Macro + Sigma 1.4 TC compatibility?

Has anybody tried this combination?

According to Sigma, no, they aren't compatible. This is probably because putting a TC on a wide lens like that would result in terrible IQ.

Thanks Adam, that's what I thought.
Since I have the 1.4x I was thinking about getting something in that range (16,18-50,70) that I could use.
