Is this Pentax Tamron 18-250mm repairable?

Saw this eBay auction for a Tamron 18-250mm lens, but seems to have the rubber zoom ring detaching. Is this user repairable, or acceptable as is? It almost appears like the lens was in extreme heat and the ring expanded.

I would say yes to that. I bought mine used several years ago and the rubber was loose. I sent it to Tamron for repair (which was still under warranty) and it came back just fine. I also asked them to tighten the zoom a bit as it really had a problem with lens creep. They did that too and I actually seldom need the lens lock set.

You should never include links to the auction. Your fellow Pentaxians might bid it out from under you or start a bidding war. good luck.
