After 40, I got 15 and 70 almost immediately.
So who said it that Pentax marketing was weak haha

Yes, I like my 40 mm wide open. Very inconspicuous due to it's small size - I would use it more if would do more with people or street. I am however more of a 10mm land and sea scape shooter.
The other day I indulged in buying an old K 200 mm prime for $90 just to see if I have a use for a tele.

I used my 200mm for the first time two days ago to take moon photos. It does alright but it's not really ideal for that either.

Waiting for my 31mm now..... never tried the 40mm but I have the 15mm ltd and exchanged the 35mm ltd for the 31mm. I do however beleive that there is some kind of LBA "virus" transmitted as soon as you touch a Limited lens....

I have sigma 50 1.4.. what do you guys recommend? FA 43 or DA 40 or FA 31..?

Since I have 50, i don't know if 43 or 40 would be that much of difference in terms of length... another option is to sell Siggi 50 and get FA 43 and FA 31... any suggestion?

Follow-up: Since I started this thread, fyi, about 6 weeks ago, I took the plunge and bought a used FA31 from the marketplace.

In short, I simply love it.

The DA 21 is the lens that spends the most time on my camera but the 40 was my first prime. I wouldn't buy the FA 31 due to its price and to a lesser extent, size. I'd be too scared to take it anywhere, being so expensive. I have a 77 and have the same problem with that, so I only pack it for special occasions.

Where do you live that you are afraid to pack a lens? I do actually do own a couple lenses that aren't cheap, and some that are bulky. The size and heft may be a bother but I don't let the value deter me.

I agree, why have something if you're afraid to use it?

I can understand the original comments. I'm out in the elements a lot and I know that my gear won't stay in perfect condition. I go on long backpacking trips and I use my camera to take photos first and worry about keeping dust/raindrops/sand off of it 2nd. I actually bought a cheap travel set (M28/50/135) to take on some trips. I know that if I had a FA31 on these trips then I would be putting it away more often. But a $40 M28? Not a concern. Adding the DA15 (soon) to the arsenal changes things however since there isn't a cheap, light alternative.

I also spend a lot of time traveling (cheap) and theft happens in hostels/buses/trains/taxis/sangthaew/jeepneys/etc...

I don't live in a bad area, it's just my own personal hangup that would stop me from packing a lens that costs so much. I would just be afraid of damaging it/losing it. It's silly I know.
