Silver DA 40mm available!!

I just got a message from our B&H rep informing us that a handful of NEW silver DA 40mm limited has arrived. Perhaps this is old stock that Pentax dug up somewhere?

Pentax SMCP-DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited Series Lens (Silver) 22020 B&H - $499

He told me that the quantity is limited to a handful of pieces.

What is the differences between the silver and the black version? Black version is cheaper. Is it cosmetic or is there some kind of advantage? The black version is cheaper, and it is also 2.8.

Could someone tell me the differences between the black and the silver version of this lenses? All I can see are the price difference? What makes the silver one more expensive? Am I missing something thing here? Are inside of both lenses the same?

Cosmetic difference only, and the cache' of owning a limited, limited lens.

This and sheer numbers. The black version is being mass produced, the silver is/was produced in limited quantity only...

My silver one looks out of place on my black K-5 :P

The silver one was the same price as the black one where I bought it. Would've preferred a black one but the didn't have one!!

I actually think black lenses on silver/black camera look very good! I wish Pentax started doing silver/black cameras as standard like back in film days or like they did with DS/DL 1&2.
