Pentax F70-210

Just picked up a F70-210 lens for 20 bucks was still in the box, little to no use had been in with a bunch of other camera equipment.

Wow, what a steal. This lens is very sharp

Boy is that something I would have loved to get my hands on. I used to have one, but it broke before I got a dSLR. It was by far my favorite lens when shooting film. Well done!

I still cant believe she found it, and it doesnt have a mark on it. We are in the process of making our must have lens list and its hard narrowing it down.

I like this lens a lot. Its numbers are not that impressive - a lot of lenses open up to f5.6 at 210mm. But this lens is really good wide open. I sold my Pentax-M 200mm f4 prime because this lens was better. I travel with it a lot. It has a 9-blade aperture, unusual for Pentax. It autofocuses very fast, although it's a little louder than my other lenses. When you pick it up, your first thought is that it's entirely plastic. It's actually nearly all metal in an ugly plastic shell, so it's fairly hefty, about double the weight of a DA 50-200. The shape is a little odd; it's not a great-looking lens.

Yours is the correct version. There is a plain Pentax-F version without SMC and a Takumar-F version that also lacks SMC. There's a couple of similar-looking 70-200s that are different designs too, so potential buyers should shop carefully.

I had read about the noise, but she says its quieter than the Tamron she is using.
