Can a manual m42 mount lens with a stuck aperture be fixed?

Hi All,
Is there anything I can do for a m42 mount lens that the aperture is stuck on the maximum setting? Where can I take or send it so it can be fixed? About how much might it cost to get fixed?

What is the lens, it may not be worth it

As to fixing. I had a 135mm soligor macro preset with jammed blades. Turns out that the blades were not only bent but the "dimples" that held them in place were warn and no matter how I tried, I could not get the blades to remain in place correctly.

Bent blades are easy to straighten, use a hammer. Tis is no joke, a small body work hammer to peen the blades flat one by one works great

Yes|no|maybe it can be fixed and yes|no|maybe it is worth fixing.

I have had a very few M42's with stuck blades. None were worth professional repair. A mighty Meyer Oreston 50/1.8 had an easily-removed base. I poked one blade and all was well. Another, a Lentar-Cimko 25/3.5, had an un-removable (by me) base and body. I'd paid eight bucks but sold it as a 'parts' lens for US$20, I guess to someone who thought they could fix it.

I think a standard repair fee will be in the US$40-80 range (much cheaper in VietNam, according to some members). You'll get to decide if your lens is worth that. Good luck!
