LBA masked as Christmas gift to myself.

I just had a moment of severe weakness , yet I don't feel any guilt...

Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 DI LD Macro and Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 DI LD Macro.

I've wanted the 28-75mm forever, so I know what to expect out of it. And the 70-300mm has been showing a lot of promise from the users on here as of late so I feel confident about that purchase as well. So I think I did good.

I normally don't toot my own horn but I think it was a good purchase. I already have the Tamron 1.4x TC so I think I will be set for a while, Merry Christmas to me.

Until the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 comes out. Then it will be Happy Birthday to me!

HAHAHA!! Fortunately (or unfortunately) I do not have a wife, or I prolly wouldn't be having this discussion at all.

would love to see how you think of the Tamron 28-75 XR, as I've been eyeing it for a little while myself.

Hey Buddha, me too!

I've been on this board and another one getting all the info I could on the 16-50*, but in the end just couldn't make it work. So I got the 28-75. Come spring time, if I really like it, I'll pick up the Pentax 12-24. If I don't, I'll sell it and get the 16-50* and the DA 70. Have seen some very good reviews of the Tamron on this forum, let's hope everyone else is right!

Well, I think my overall plan is to have a stable of lenses from each manufacturer.

Tamron - 28-75mm / 70-300mm
Sigma#1 - 24-135mm (possibly sell) / 135-400mm (still to buy) OR
Sigma #2 - 10-20mm / 28-70mm / 70-200mm (all to buy but prolly not going to)
Pentax - 16-45mm / 50-200mm (already own) OR
Pentax - 16-50 / 50-135 or 60-250mm (all to buy but still up in the air)

Six lenses plus all my macro stuff should be a good lot. But who knows what the future holds.
