LBA: New F35-105

Just found a new F35-105. Apparently it has been sitting on the shelf for twenty years in a small town camera shop.

Got it for a reasonable price, 100€ plus shipping. It is boxed, unused and comes with a guarantee! I wonder what they say if I send it in for repairs

I hope it is as good as my F35-70 plus the extra reach, some softness is expected.

Seb

Look at the PF user review section:

Hope that the URL will assist....

Thanks HCC, I did check before ordering it. I was hesitating due to the last post in the lens review. But the F35-70 is one of my favurites so I couldn't resist anymore.

But funny how you still find old stock, I saw a FA28-90 (if i remember correctly) on the Azores last year. I guess it had been there for 10 years. It might still be there...

Old stock is a funny thing. I recently picked up an F 70-210 that was probably sitting on a shelf for just as long as your 35-105. On the camera show circuit I run into a retired camera store owner once a year who is selling stock he had left over in his basement from the late '70s and early '80s (ME and MX cases in their original packaging, T4 mounts, other accessories and 3rd party lenses).

Got it.First impression: Lightning fast AF! Well built and not pretty, as expected.
First a "macro" shot, then a midrange shot. A shot of a stainless steel mesh (not shown here) indicated some softness on left side.
But worth the €100 (US$137) for a new lens with guarantee (12 months?).
