M42 - k adapter on amazon.com - comments?

I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with this particular M42 - K mount adapter:

Amazon.com: M42 Screw Mount Lens to Pentax K/PK Body Adapter, Black: Electronics

I did a bit of searching and couldn't find anything on this brand, "Photo Adapter". Thanks in advance.

I dont experience with that one in particular but I can tell you (almost 100%) that it wont allow you to focus to infinity.

kinda what I was thinking...doesn't look like the lens would sit flush with the camera body.

That one probably won't let you focus to infinity, and it's not actually sold by Amazon. The ones that let you focus to infinity look like this:

After I posted, I saw this one's out of stock and realized I'd bought the Kalt one as well

Too bad B&H seems to be out of both

at 14 dollars a piece i'm not suprised, the genuine pentax is 40 dollars.

The genuine Pentax adapter works so much better than the generic ones though. I've tried both the Kalt and the Bower generic adapters and they're not perfect.

When you screw a lens into a generic adapter, the lens is usually still slightly rotated. This isn't a big issue normally, but if your lens has a non-adjustable tripod mount, your camera body won't be lined up with the orientation of the lens.

Generic adapters are also stupidly difficult to remove from the camera body. Most people just remove the tiny clip mechanism from the adapter to keep it from clicking into the camera mount.
