No pixie dust but it works

Tamron 18-200mm - $240 new.
I know it doesn't have the panache of a limited but it gets the job done.
It also has the best AF including my Pentax glass.

This tree was what I played on as a boy over 60 years ago. It's a Cedar and thought to be about 250 years old.

This months monthly contest is "Trees's" - this would be a good submission for it...

She's aged well. If someone puts a cedar sapling on my grave, I might look that good in 300 years!

Nice.

It is certainly a good superzoom lens. I didn't use mine much, so I sold it, but if money weren't an issue I'd have surely kept it. That is a great looking tree. Now you have to buy a Sigma 8-16 so you can get it all in one shot. Go LBA go!

I have the Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM but didn't need it.

I just bought one of these for my wife to use on her K2000. She hates changing lenses and never really forgave me for selling her DA18-250. This does seem to be a decent enough replacement and I only paid $206 after rebate/credit at amazon. Just stop it down and use it outside and it does just fine. One bonus: no zoom creep! The DA 18-250 used to annoy the crap out of me the way the barrel constantly slid out. This one has a zoom lock just like the DA, but this copy, at least, doesn't creep even when the lock isn't set.
