Simon's shot of the Windmill is also with DA15, better composed, about 3minute exposure, with post processing of course which he seems to excel at.
Yes, excellent shot. It's in B&W and in that case color cast is not important.

In the one I did:

You can clearly see the color cast. I didn't really bother to try to fix it because it was more about shapes than color. That said I would prefer any neutral filter if it existed.

This is just a test shot wi th the Hoya ND400, DA15 (cropped) , 30sec colour jpeg straight out of the camera, while a little cool, my eyes dont see a noticeable (green) colour cast.
That's actually pretty impressive.

Indeed, he does. He also has some kind of Jedi powers when it comes to sharpness. He consistently posts the sharpest images on this site.

Very nice images guys!

A bit off topic, but what lens cap do you guys use? I find the screw on cap annoying to use and takes too long.

I use a spare 49mm pinch cap that came of my old FA 70-200. (coincidentally that lens has a Hoya UV filter jammed on it which I gave up on.)
It is this type. (they're listed at 12.60 at B&H). image "stolen" from B&H website
the inside surface of the cap has a plastic "spring" and this just clears the curved front element of the DA15.

or the current type of pinch cap like you get on a DFA100WR for example also appear to fit and they're only 11.95 bucks at B&H
looks like this

The first cap is the one I prefer, but the cheapest would run around 15$ s/h included. That's a bit high for a plastic cap. If someone knows a good cheap copy, I'd like to hear about it!

The second one is easy to find on eBay for 2-3$. I bought that. Put in on my FA50 and took the FA50 cap to use on my DA 15mm. Problem solved

How would the DA15 work on snowy mountains / ski field without any filter??
