A little Christmas gift to myself.

I have wanted a Pentax 10-17mm fisheye ever since I bought the K10D. Well I just walked into the local photo store and ordered one. They are kind of happy to see me, as I just recently bought the Fa 50mm 1.4, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I also have on order the 3 piece Pentax off camera flash F rig (2 parts are in…waiting for the flash adapter).

Interestingly enough, they had one 18-250mm Pentax (599 Canadian) on the shelf. Nice sturdy lens. Felt a lot better then the Tamron 18-250 (599 Canadian) or the Sigma 18-200 OS (699 Canadian), of which they had in both Nikon and Canon mounts. Talk about slow lenses though...yikes.

I stuck to my guns, not really seeing a need for such a walkabout lens. It was a hard visit though. The longer I stayed in there, the worse my LBA became. They had a Sigma 70-200 2.8 for 1100 that would fit my Canon. I had to walk away quickly lol. Is there ever an end to LBA?

Haha when your hand slides into your pocket for your wallet and the employee has this weird smile on his/her face, snap out of it and walk out of the store asap haha.

Otherwise, you'll start to justify purchases and when you pull out the plastic, its all over.

You will like the fisheye. Very reasonably priced, as far as lenses go...

Well with this last piece of the puzzle I think I am fairly set in my kit. The only thing I do not have is a macro lens for the Pentax. That might be down the road somewhat.

the Fisheye zoom is a very good value and such a fun lens to have. Great for street photos. Have fun & post some pics for us!

I certainly will when I get it. I fear it may be after Christmas before I get it. But who knows, if I am lucky, I will have it to play for the two weeks I am off.
