Carl Zeiss Lens, 35-70mm F2.8-F22

I saw this lens advertised online with the following:
Pentax P30N
Carl Zeiss Lens, 35-70mm F2.8-F22
Genuine Pentax 28mm Lens F2.8-F22
Koboron Zoom 70-200mm Lens F4.5-F32

I'm not interested in the body but this lens could be good. Is it MF and is it any good?
Oh the whole lot is going for $150 AUD.

There is some very good comment on the Zeiss lens. For example Carl Zeiss 35-70mm F3.4 Photo Gallery by Yu-Lin Chan at pbase.com.

I would say that the price is right ...

My 5 cents thoughts ...

Is it the Carl Zeiss Jenazoom 35-70? If so I have one. No AF but it is PKA mount if the same lens. A not too shabby performer but can use a hood in certain situations or suffer a bit of loss of contrast.
Aperture on the Jenazoom is 2.8-4.3, so variable with the focal length. A 1.3 macro ratio makes it useful for close focus.

The CZ 35-70/3.5 macro sells for around US$300-400 over here (and those prices are a pretty reliable guide to global prices). I don't know the f2.8 version but it is a CZ so fully MF but that's a great value lens if it's in good condition. Sell off the rest (if the 28mm is an M you may get US$50 for it and more if it's a K28 - again MF lenses) for peanuts and you may be US$70-80 at most out of pocket. Zeiss lenses may be MF but they are mostly great quality. A steal.

EDIT : note I am referring to Contax Zeiss not Carl Zeiss Jena so it seems I have made a mistake here and I'd look at what the other guys are saying.

It's most likely Japanese (Sigma?) made under license from Carl Zeiss Jena but there isn't one bit of East German glass or technology in the lens. It is MF, the jury is out to whether it's any good or not. These Carl Zeiss Jena zooms pop up periodically in Vancouver's Craigslist from time to time priced in the mid 2 digit range. I haven't used one but there are members of this forum who has, perhaps they can give you a better idea whether the package is worth it or not.

OK thanks for the replies. Doesn't sound like what I was after. Am currently bidding on a DA*50-135 on Ebay. Up to $700 with 2 days to go but someone else wants it as much as I do. Was going to go to $800 but will probably exceed the budget! Need a good lens for wedding in November, hence the search.

There were a few maufacturers for the Jenazooms, Sigma, Cosina.
I've yet to find an identical lens made by those third party manufacturers but I can cancel out Sigma, having owned a similar spec lens of theirs made around the same period.

I actually picked up a Cosina 28-70/4 macro for US$20 whilst searching for a Cosina 50/1.2. I've no idea why I bought it (except that Cosina has some very nice glass - they are now even producing VL lenses) but it is a decent lens !
