Body lens connection

Ever notice how some lenses seem to stay on some bodies?

It seems my DA17-70 is always on the K20d. It feels right there, and the performance seems well matched.

My K10d ialways seems to be wearing the SMC K135/2.5. Again, it feels right, focuses right and I'm used to the exposure quirks. Oh, and there is something about that lens and the K10d sensor.

The K-x has the most variety--Ltd primes.

K100d plus DA 18-55

The MX mates with the VL Ultron 40, though the Ultron sometimes cheats with the LX

LX plus M20 or M50/1.4 or Cosina 50/1.2. Sometimes the FA77 sneaks in there.

Superprogram plus DA55-300. Sounds unlikely, but works nicely.

What are your favorites?

I don't have that much choice

K5 + FA31Ltd; at occasion the 31mm gets replaced by DFA100WR (if I want to zoom in on a detail) and at even lesser occasions it gets replaced with DA18-55WR (mostly if I really, really need flexibility).
K10D + Vivitar 55/2.8 macro

And my wife seems to go more and more for the DA55-300 on her K100D and leave the DA18-55 for what it is.

Idealistically, my favourite is whatever is mounted on my K20D, especially with my lens-of-the-day strategy. Each LOTD is the best! Realistically, some lenses seem magnetically attracted to certain cameras:

K20D -- F35-70
ZX-M -- Vivitar-Kiron 24/2
MV1 -- M135/3.5
K1000 -- K50/1.2
Spotty -- SuperTak 55/1.8
Chinon CR-3E -- Vivitar-Kiron Series 1 Version 1 70-210/3.5
Praktica FX3 (waist-level VF) -- Mir-1 37/2.8
Praktica L2 -- Helios-44 58/2

Still, my basic lens on my K20D is still the DA18-250. Just can't get around that.

I think that some lenses and bodies, due to their individual variances just work better than others, when traveling I would always use my 10-20 on the K7 and my 28-75/2.8 on the K10. The results were just better than the other way around. Can't real hex lain it any other way

I typically only shoot with one body and in the past year, I've been doing these single in (month) challenges. I would have to say that the lens that felt the most right and most comfortable to use was the FA31mm Limited in August.

Similar to a few others, I've only a few choices. With only one body (K100dS), I find that I'm using the DA17-70 most. (In fact, Gene, it was your review that probably influenced me most in getting that lens for the normal zoom upgrade. And, I've been very happy - thanks.) I very much like the images from the DA 40 Limited, but I find that I feel restricted in composing ability. I want to develop the prime preference that so many here have, but I've not been able to do it in the 4 months I've had the 40. Thanks. Glenn

I used to have this feeling back in the days I owned K10D GP and K50/1.2. Those two were like 2 piece puzzle fitting perfectly..

I'm glad to hear that it worked out for you. It almost never comes off the K20d. The size, weight and quality all seem very well balanced for that body.
