Sigma reporting @ 170mm

Pentax 18-250 reporting @ 180mm

Pentax 50-200 reporting @ 160mm

And just to humor a few people around the forum...
Here is the "around $10", Focal QII 70-210 near 100MM at f5.6

...and around 200mm

Now I'm really confused. Would it be a waste of my money to pick up the 18-250, if I already have a 50-200? But it doesn't go down to 18mm. But I'm confused now :S

It would not be a waste, it is a very good lense.

Might make many reconsider their respect for the "kit lens". It does seem sharper and have greater contrast than the Sigma. Somehow greater magnification at the same distance to subject, even.
So if the DA 50-200 is just as sharp and acceptable magnification than the Sigma is at 300mm and DA is at 250, can you live with going no wider than 50mm and changing lenses if you want 18 or 28mm field of view?
