Hi all

I am looking at the Sigma 120-400mm lens and can get the non-OS and OS models.. the non-OS is about $350 dollars cheaper.

With the modern Pentax bodies having Shake Reduction (and it works) the OS model seems like a waste of $350 but the question in my mind is "Is this non-OS lens any good?"

Almost every review I can find seems to be based on the OS model... so I am hoping someone here can say 'yep got one, and it works great' or 'yep got one and it is rubbish'.

I know compared to the Pentax 300mm F4 the Simga 120-400mm is not as sharp but I am looking for a little more reach than the 300mm offers & zoom as well (and it will be a hell of a lot better than the FA 100-300 f5.6-6.3 lens I am wanting to replace).

Thanks... completely missed those reviews.

They seem on par with reviews of the OS model... some finding it really good, others not impressed with the 400mm softness.

Looked at the 150-500mm but many people mark down the softness at 400-500mm.. so no advantage there either (except weight).

Really wanted the new lens before end of November but will wait a few more weeks to see if anything is coming out of the ricoh pentax merger.. but this lens is looking like the gap filler for me.
