Gad, I have nine lenses collected over four years. Now I don't feel so bad.

heres another view of the 500mm. She's a little rough round the gills, but the internals are in perfect working order.
The fa77 is shown for size comparison.

Well, it'll probably be an even dozen if I can find the funding for the DA 15, 35 and 70 Limited primes. Then I'll be pretty much done.

spoken like a LBAddict.

you know, you could always just go and buy more lenses and resell them for profit, and thereby funding your 'needs' that way..... *evil laugh*

that 'SMC' is the much vaunted FA77 Ltd. A tiny Lewel of a lens.

The holy trinity of Fa 31, Fa43 and Fa77 were one of the most expensive LBA discoveries I have made. The 77 is very likely one of the best portait lenses ever made, by anyone, ever.

wolfie, if you dont want to know about the 77, I could talk to you about the a super multi coated 135mm F2.5 and a super tak 85mm F1.9 that might make you drool a little...

Or K85/1.8 or M85/2 or M100/2.8...
FA*85/1.4 may be out of range and hard to find but Soligor 105/2.8...

I tried the Soligor first time yesterday. Awesome! Mine is 8-blades version, but I still like the round shape bokeh. Razor sharp just a half stop down. IMO, it is too sharp for portrait.

It is a CANNON (as in the shooting of large explosive balls type, not the other kind), it even has sights!

LOL. I feel like I'm in a rural market town in China and everyone's offering me their wares. Gawd, I went once and we were totally mobbed. My friend and I were chased by merchants as we made our way back to the bus. "buy! buy! buy!"

I already have a Tak 135 and now a Jup 135 thankyouverymuch. I don't need another................

I tried out my soligor when I got home. The preset aperture is trrriiickky. I got lots of dark shots. Nothing bright. It wouldn't seem to let me open the aperture (as in go to O) when I had the aperture set at 3.5. I gave up fairly quickly though coz it was cold and rainy outside.

Then proceeded to play with my 1.8 and 3.5 (am in total luuurv on the 3.5) and the Jup, and, and and... *falls into a heap*

What a priceless threadt this is! It's funny to me, because it's so recognizalble.

Wait untill you get kneedeep into macro/micro, and discover that enlarger lenses are still dirt-cheap, even the high quality ones. It's the LBA version of moonshine.

I myself recently found out that I can mount microscope lenses to my DSLR. I was forced to buy 3 different kinds of Nikon Plan Achromats. 4x, 10x and 40x. The results are very good, but those tiny lenses surely don't come cheap.

But I have to say: LBA is a luxury problem. There are much worse bad habits.
