So I was pricing FA 77 1.8 limited lenses at B & H and Adorama. Pricey, but do-able at tax time. Awesome quality shots from what I've seen.

I decided to check the "bay" to see what they were auction priced at. All the ones listed were buy it now with pricing way above new.

No wonder they still have them.

It's called, Trolling For Suckers. Eventually, they get a bite. And another. D'ya know why? Because 1) some buyers don't care about the price; and 2) some buyers are fools. Like PT Barnum said, there's one born every minute.

Yes, the sale prices there are quite high for limited lenses.

I guess they do not expect people to shop for the best prices before looking at their sales.

As RioRico said, they're just hoping for a sucker. Very few of the severely over-priced lenses sell. The ones that are well priced sell within hours (or minutes) so you seldom see them listed when you do a search (and instead you see all the overpriced ones that don't sell). Check the "completed listings" to get a better idea of what they actually sell for, but don't be surprised if every once in a while a sucker does indeed pay way too much for a lens
