D-FA 100mm F/2.8 with Ring Flash

So, I am in love with D-FA 100mm f/2.8 and AF160fc ring flash setup.

I used to have a Nikon 105mm f/2.8 VR, and this one is much, much smaller, which is to be expected due to the in-lens AF-S and VR. But still it is a breath of fresh air. I can't tell any difference in IQ between the two. I have read that the Nikon is sharper, but I defy anyone to tell the difference in non-lab, real world shooting with a crop sensor camera.

The IQ of the jumping spider is not really great. I'm sure it could be sharper than that.

It is a great little lens. It has a deep depth of field and this apparently gives you a better low light advantage from my perpective. At least this is my hypothesis.

Flickr has a group devoted to this lens and I have posted several shots in it.
