wrong focal lenght with tammy 17-50

So I finally got my copy and i am confused. at wide end (17mm) i noticed that both of my K-x bodies one with 1.0 firmware and second with 1.02 reads wrong focal lenght (45mm) !? Not with every wide angle picture but it happens. What do you think?

The in-camera reading is an approximation, so sometimes that might happen.

At the 50mm end maybe. An older lens like a Pentax-F zoom doesn't send as much data to the camera, so you might not see the exact FL. Maybe a third party lens has the same problems.

But the OP is seeing 45mm when the lens is at 17mm, which may be a problem for the SR. One strength of the Tamron is a long warranty; I'd take advantage of that.

That's funny, I just noticed that yesterday. I shoot at 17mm quite a bit and a few pictures say 45mm instead. I hadn't noticed this before but I'll have to go back and check.

haven't noticed the problem on my copy. Using a Pentax Kx. I would clean the contacts, both on camera and lens, and then if that doesn't help, try the warranty route.
