I am not so sure. I find that especially with fast lenses the AF confirmation is still a nice thng to have. Micro prism collars and split image are good, but to really nail it, i think in some cases the camera is better.
I use 2 different split screens, a single diagonal split in my K10D and a dual split in my *istD. I think the dual split is better in some cases, because 2 disruptions in the continuity of a line are easier to spot than one.
