Yashica 55/1.2 loose mount, M42, how to fix?

Hi all,
I have an old bad shape Yashica Tomioka 55/1.2 in M42 mount. Glass is fine, but the mount is a bit loose - 1-2mm. The lens is still usable. To maintain correct focus,i have to hold the lens tight into the body. I got it with several other M42 lenses, all in bad shape, all with loose mount - so it can be a common issue for M42 lenses, but i never encounter this issue earlier.

Has anyone find it fixable? Or who can i send it to?

Thanks.

Really, Pentaxians?
I am surprised that no one has a clue how to fix an M42 loose mount.
So we are all photographers but not a clue of inner working of our tools?

To cont searching for a solution, I will post a thread in the mflenses forrums.

I am appreciate your info how to fix these lenses.
I think I have many enough to start learning disasembling and reassembling.

Hoan, I've seen your thread and have been thinking about it. I have a few M42 lenses, but no such problem.

When you say you have to hold the lens tight to the body, what is actually loose, the adapter? If the lens screws into the adapter all the way, as it should, then the only thing that I can think of is a problem with that adapter.

That's right.
The M42 base is loose from the lens itself.
There are no screw outside, so I think it has to be removed all glass to have access to the mount screws *inside* the lens.
but that's what I think. Better to comfirm before I disassembling the lens.
Also, to find out how difficult is it to reassembling the elements and what to expect.

I use pentax M42 adapter, and it is tight. no problem with other m42 lenses.

I've only opened a few old k mount lenses, as I haven't had any problems with my M42 lenses yet. Looking at my Takumar 105, I must say, I can't see how the lens mount can become loose. It would be nice if you could post a few close ups of the back of the lens.
Perhaps you should wait for RioRico, or PM him, he might have an idea of what the problem is?

He did, a couple days ago. I suggested that he start this thread.
Can anyone suggest a good lens repair-person? What about Eric?

I havent been contacted Eric yet. I have been his customer for several lenses. Just try to find out how easy to fix it before i send over. Shipping, custom fee and paper work from norway will force me to find another solution. I have send lenses out earlier. That lens had cost me an arm, but i got experience how toll and custom work.

Hey thanks everybody. I just created a new thread in the mflenses forums. Perhaps i get some recommendation from there.

Of course, I will post an how-to article when I found out.
Those lenses are pretty bad shape, but I got these for cheap and have interesting glass.
All M42s I own have hidden screws, very solid build.

Got the pentacon 29/2.8 fixed, also got the petri 28/2.8 fixed. These are now tight, working fine, but still no clue how to open the tomioka. Petri 28/2.8 has the worst glow effect wide open, but i havent try portrait with it. The glow effect is gone 90% only half click down.

If there are no screws on the base plate does the plate itself screw into the back of the lens? Perhaps there is a locking ring that is missing. Something similar to the locking ring at the front of the lens. Seems unlikely, but maybe worth checking out.
