no infinity sign on lens??

A couple of nights ago hubby and I shot off to try to get some northern lights photos. This was my second chance to try this. Hubby and I share our selection of lenses and it was his turn to use the wide angle. I had the Pentax 18-135 on my camera.

I wanted to set my lens on infinity - but couldn't see a way to do that in the cold and dark. I've just checked again and still don't see a way to do it. Any ideas guys?

One end of the focus is close, the other is far. I believe with Pentax lenses, turning the focus ring all the way to the right is infinity.

That does sound logical doesn't it....it was what I tried when no infinity symbol could be found The problem is that focus ring turns and turns and turns with no 'end' in sight!

Ah yes, I forgot that you would be dealing with quick shift.
I think if you switch to manual focus you will feel a slight resistance when you hit infinity (or close focus the other way).
If not, turning the focus ring to the right more than is known to put the lens to infinity will put the lens on infinity.

If that means that you can turn the focus ring more than 360 degrees, I would say that the lens is broken.

It is meant to do that - a 'feature' of the 18-135. You can just about feel the 'soft stops' but they may not correspond to infinity.
