What can you tell me about these lenses?

I can't find very much info on this lens, how is the quality? Good - bad for use on a K10D?

SMC Pentax 1.2 50mm

SMC Pentax-M 1:1.7 50mm

SMC Pentax-M 1:2.8 28mm

And what are they selling for?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,

There is actually a lot of info about IQ on these lenses. Here is one man's opinion of the best 50's:

The Online Photographer

I just bid and won an M 50mm f1.7 on EekBay and I'm looking forward to using it on my K10D.

Thanks for the input...I changed the first one I listed, this is the information I was given on it...the previous one I listed may have been the wrong one.

Yeah, there's a huge difference between a 1.2 and a 1:2. Unfortunately a lot of online auction sellers list their 50mm/f2 lenses as 50mm/f1.2.

it's reported to be a great lens. I've never had the chance to shoot with one. But you can check reviews here:
Pentax Lens Review Database - 50mm F1.2

Which is this forum's on lens review data base here for every lens made:

Pentax Lens Review Database - Main Index

value? On the used auction market these sell between $550 and 700.00 If you can get one, check it out carefully and if it's in great shape, the price is $200 or less, put it on Ebay and buy yourself a 43mm Limited or an FA50mm f1.4. IMO they are equal or better lenses that will leave you with a profit for more lenses which in turn will make you "need" more lenses and when those arrive, you'll need more lenses and when those arrive you'll......

This what the guy is offering....

1.2 50mm lense, tamron lense 70-210 zoom, pentax lens 28mm-50mm zoom, proxy reprod lense $100.

I am going to try to get over to look at them tomorrow afternoon, so we will see if that is indeed the lense.

if it really is an F1.2 it would be very interesting. I have an F1.4 and use it for night shots, because it is so bright in the viewfinder.

The extra 1/2 stop is even better.

ALthough I have never used one, I have heard about some softness wide open, BUT you are not looking at a lens like this for absolute sharpness wide open, you are looking at it for the speed and a very bright view finder. Stopped down a couple of stops it probably is better than any other lens at the same apature

Harv good luck, but I am willing to bet cash it is the F2 not the F1.2. I wish you luck though it could be a major score.
