k-x lens mount problem

Hi,
Can anybody help? The Manual focus SMC Asahi Pentax 50mm f2.0 when fixed on K-x, it only work on maximum aperture (f2.0), is there a way to make it work on other aperture? Any adapter or camera setting can help to rectify this?

Are you using it in manual (M) mode? I don't know the K-x, but the K200 will default to wide open in the T and A modes.

Best way to use the M mode is with the Green Button. There are lots of references to this in the forum, but basically, set ISO and aperture you want, hit the Green Button, and the appropriate shutter speed is selected.
