TAIR. I believe this lens is not given enough credit.

Interesting conclusion. For me the Fuji stands out as being the best shot of all. Of course it's not sharp right across frame, but it's got some character. All the other shots don't and are as boring as hell.

I'd give the Fuji shot maybe +0.2EV of exposure, but other than that it stands out above all the others.

I reviewed the Fujinon shots again (I did not intent to compare apples/oranges) and found that the Fujinon photo posted is wide open. Here is one at f1/16, which should compare more adequately with the others:

Well, it doesn't surprise me that the CZJ seems to have the best sharpness, contrast and colours. It's an excellent lens, and is known for its neutral bokeh too. I just wish it was built as well as a Tak, for instance...

Not that the others are bad, of course (apart from the Fujinon, in my opinion). Anyway, an interesting test, and thanks!

I prefer the image taken with SMCTak85mmf1.9, its not really subjective choice in any way, I just picked what I thought has the nicest image quality, which is what I believe photography is all about....................................................

Except when someone else is paying, then it's their choice.

CZJ does look sharper in the center. Rather amazingly lifelike to me. Natural colors.
Very impressed by the Tair too. The warmish tint works rather well in this case for me. Not really too far behind in sharpness and easily added in with just a bit more sharpening.
The Fujinon works well for the subject matter (ie. softer); I would like it a lot if not given other samples to compare against.
Would have been better if the FOV was the same, cause without that, I ruled out the Tak50 and 85.

Its a wash between CZJ and Tair for me.

I like the results from the CZJ Sonnar the Takumar 85mm f/1.9 is based on a similar optical design so the only difference between them is the colour balance. The Takumar is rather cold, the CZJ 135mm f/3.5 is considerably warmer. Call me biased, but I think the Takumar 50mm f/1.4 is the best.
