No, it would be better to be based of the A*135mm f/1.8
true but I can imagine the cost...
let's see, FA77ltd is around £750
now keep the f stop, nearly double the length, add WR...

Well, I think £950-1050 would be realistic price...ehm, no thanks

For an autofocus lens like a potential DA*135,
the optical formula of the A*135/1.8
would probably prove too heavy
for the poor little squirrels to manage.

I wish all your wishes come true. I wish I could afford any of them. If wishes were horses... wait, we ARE up to our necks in horsesh!t.

I found a cheap way to get a 21mm f/1.2 (APS-C equiv), I just bought a film body and put it on the back of my FA31 Even a much cheaper FA35 is like a 23mm f/1.4 and ye 'ole FA50/1.4 is like having a 33mm f/0.95. With a MZ-S I don't even have to give up AF or pTTL.

These kind of specs are pipe dreams for APS-C digital wide shooters.

Seriously, a film body makes some sense while we wait (and wait ... and wait) for Ricoh to bring us either a wide fast lens, or a FF body. It's cheaper than a D700 at least.

Part of the idiotic way I persuaded myself to buy the FA31 even though I simply couldn't justify the expense was to say "hey, after all, it'll be great on my P3n and K1000." But, stupid me, I didn't dig those bodies out of the closet until after I'd bought the lens. The K1000 has a viewfinder wrecked by fungus or something, and the P3n's metering has gone haywire. Oh well. Maybe I should pick up another film body though. I have an enlarger and developing tanks sitting in the closet as well...

Ouch I guess though P30n's & t's are stupid cheap on ebay or keh, probably cheaper to replace rather than fix.

If I could add a few lenses to the Pentax line up, they would be:

DA* 11-16/2.8
DA* 24/1.4
DA* 85/1.4
DA* 135/1.8
DA* 300/2.8
DA* 500/4
