Pentax lens wish

A wide angle (24 or 28mm) pancake WR lens. For Prime nuts, it would go peachy with the 55mm and the 100mm. Would make a great WR prime trio.

If it's a pancake, it's going to come at the cost of speed, and probably WR, too. The 2 lenses you mention pairing it with are not pancakes, either, so why place that qualifier on it? I think a reasonably fast 24 or 28 WR in a reasonable size would be a slam dunk, though.

Interesting idea, although I don't think it really fits with the current lineups. The pancakes are all in the Limited series, which aren't WR. Not sure how much extra bulk is required to make a lens WR, but that might rule out a pancake design. It is odd there's no 28 in the DA lineup, though -- a true normal lens. A DA* 28 would be a nice addition.

Me, Too!

I do like the idea of a fast DA 24-28mm prime, maybe an f2.4 24? Or f2.0 28mm. It would make a nice walk-around lens, maybe combined with the 35mm 2.4 and a fast 50.

A fast (1.8-2) 24 or 28 prime lens really would be an interesting addition.
I am also dreaming about a new macro-portrait lens - something like 120mm F2.8 with internal focusing and ultrasonic motor.

Well, they already have an excellent 100/2.8 (minus the fancy motor), so I doubt they see a need for a 120.

sadly, its not as fast as i'd like it to be, so i'm settling for the sigma 30 till either samyang starts selling their 24 f/1.4 or our ricoh overlords listen to our prayers and bless us with a DA*24

I'd love to see a plastic fantastic ala DA35/2.4 in that range, something like a 24/2.8 with autofocus around $250-300. Maybe even a new design in an odd number between, like a 26mm or something.

Assuming a 24MP sensor.
I need a super-duper 14-65mm at F2.0 and WR with FF coverage...looking to the future. or
A hybrid 22-75mm at F1.8 with a special matching converter (mounting like the worlds ugliest hood) to 6-20mm at F3.8 and still WR and FF coverage.

Yes, Pentax has a 100/2.8 but it lacks internal focusing. Even Sigma produced an upgraded macro lens version with internal focusing and ultrasonic motor. Unfortunately not available on K-mount. Besides Sigma always lacks the quick-shift function.
So it would be interesting to see something maybe a little bit different from Pentax. 120 mm F2.4 or F2.8 IF , HSM (or maybe even dual drive) and a superb image quality. 120mm - just to be different from others - something unique custom - just for Pentax with a FF capability. I can dream - can't I !?
