At an estate sale about an hour ago I ran into a Pentax F 250-600mm. I see the spot for the review in the lens review area here but can not find a cost for this lens anywhere. The one that's for sale from the estate is $175.00 and has a really nice carrying case. The lens looks like it has never been used. This thing is a Huge" lens and I am not sure if it worth purchasing. Any thoughts or recommendations would be most appreciated.

This lens is an F not an FA sorry about the error

Are you sure there wasn't and extra zero at the end? Even if there was it would be a great price. Sprint back to that sale and hope no one else saw it.

I think they go for around US$15,000 now ? Maybe that was US$17,500 not US$175.00

Bought it. Offered them $150.00 they threw in an old wooden Kodak Tripod with the deal for $170.00. Whats this behemoth lens worth ? Just mounted it on my k7 and it works just fine. The glass looks good but there's a slight amount of dust particles inside.

I haven't seen any of the F series sell before, but the FA 250-600 might give you a better indication on worth. I've seen the FAs go for $7,000-9,000.

I'd keep it if I were you and enjoy a wonderful lens. Or sell it to me...
