Xmas OOF comparison....again :)

Hi all,

being inspired by Simon's thread comparing some lenses' OOF rendering using Xmas lights, I decided to have a little go at it myself.
Unlike Simon, I didn't frame with movement of the camera. All shots were taken from the same spot and then cropped to achieve the same FOV as the longest lens in the comparison gave me.
So, perspective in all the images is the same, the framing might be little bit off at some as my cropping may not be 100% accurate. Also focusing on some shots is touch off too... I was in hurry while my little one was napping...

anyway, lenses and settings are as follows:

FA*24 @f2 & f2.8
FA31ltd @f1.8 and 2.8
FA43ltd @f1.9 and 2.8
DA*55 @f1.4 and 2.8
FA*28-70 @f2.8 70mm and 45mm and 28mm

So, 11 images, 11 tips... anybody dares?

good luck

Here we go:

I have to say Axl the FA 24 at 2.8 (3rd pic) i like the star effect it adds a nice touch for the subject. I needed no encouragement for wanting that lens but this makes me want it
more
the 43 @ 2.8 below is very nice as well ( a Given the 43 is a stellar lens)

when i looked at my next favourites it was the same lenses wide open lol

I didn't know that Santa was also a Sheriff... go figure. 8-)

I have no idea about the images apart from that remark and I look forward to being enlightened. And a very merry Xmas BTW

Nice Peter!
Im suprised this hasnt got more hits?

Anyway I'll give it a crack, without checking the exif.
(DA*55 easily spotted lol! Afterall it does have the best bokeh here)

1. FA*24 wide open (like)
2. 28-70 (ok)
3. 31 @ 2.8 (dis-like)
4. 43 @ 2.8 (dis-like)
5. 55 wide open, (like the best)
6. I assume this is the same as the 11th pic because I can see a bit of onion bokeh in there, despite the onioning I still like the bokeh. (like)
7. FA*24 (dislike)
8. 31 (dis-like)
9. 43 wide open (like)
10. 55 @ 2.8 (easily spotted and liked)
11. Same lens as 6 because becasue they share abit of onioning, prehaps caused my the zoom? (Like)

Thanks for putting the time and effort in Peter
