My old manual vivitar lens

Hi need some advice i have a 18mm 70mm vivitar lens. I thought i try it out on my k5 but doesn't seem to work with the camera. The camera is flashing the f - - sign.

Can anyone tell me what this means. And is it possible to use this lens on my camera it does fit but being a beginner I'm a bit lost. Thank you.

The TL;DR of it is, when using this lens, put the camera in M mode, and push the green button to meter before shooting. You'll also have to use the aperture ring on the lens to set your aperture manually.

You will also have to set the camera to enable use of the aperture ring (that is what the flashing F--- is all about).
