Weather proofing a lens

I have two pentax lens :
55x 300- f4-5.6
16 x45 - f4.0

Can the Pentax Servicer Centers apply a Weather Seal to these lenses

You'll have to have a lens that is designed from the start to be weather sealed like the DA18-55WR or DA18-135WR. I hear that the Star line is weather sealed too.

DA*, yes. Earlier * lenses, no.

I can attest that the plastic bag idea works very well. There are also raincovers available on ebay. I haven't tried the Glad press n' seal idea, but its the same principle.

I have also used an umbrella where the situation allowed it.
