magnifiers

found a brand new set of Hoya 49mm +1 +2 +3 filters at a shop for 2 bucks. Could'nt resist. Do they serve any real perpose and how badly do they degrade an image?

As you know, they are used for macro work, so that is their purpose.

As far as image quality, yes, they will affect that somewhat. You should get a nice sharp center, with some Blurring around the edges. Depending on what type of macro work your doing, this may or may not be a problem.

For the price you paid for them, have fun. Try different combinations and judge them for yourself.
