Zeiss Planar T* ZK 85/1.4

I see there is a UK store offering this in a K-mount version. About $1400. Anyone know how this would compare in performance with the PTX A* 85/1.4?

Just askin'..............

$1400 is way too much. Matsuiyastore has them for $1K and they are generally overpriced by a little bit. (See this eBay listing.)

I've used the ZF 85/1.4 (for Nikon) and the FA* 85/1.4 - not exactly the comparison you were looking for - but to my tastes the Pentax is better. They are both very good lenses. The A* has a much different character from the FA* though, my guess is the former is sharper across the frame.

Thanks; I suspected as much both on IQ and $. BTW, is there any lens you don't know about?

I've done a lot of homework on lenses over the last several years. One thing to keep in mind though is that, not unlike Stan's site, mine is just one opinion.
