As far as I can remember...

Sold:
DA 70mm Limited
DA 40mm Limited
Sigma 55-200
Pentax DA 18-55mm
Kiev88 with Vega 12b
Horizon202
Olympus 35RC
Pentax M35/2.8
Tamron 28-75/2.8
Sigma 50mm 1.4

Bought:
Pentax 18-135WR
Pentax FA77/1.8
Pentax FA43/1.9
Pentax DA21/3.2
Sigma 70-300 OS
Tokina 24/2.8
Holga
my second Seagull 4A103

Wow - that's a lot. Good to see and realize. I am quite happy with my setup, just benchmarked the Canon 5D "FullFrame" QueenMom against the K5 and the Pentax System won

For next year - tripod upgrade, a number of filters, a home-studio strobist setup and maybe a fisheye...

I bought my first DSLR in 2011, the K5.
18-55 WR
SMC-A 50/1.7
SMC-A 70-210/4.0
Tamron/Quantaray 70-300
Tokina 28-70/2.8-4.3

I literally (Dec 31st, 2011) just bought the DA 18-135 to replace the kit lens. The kit lens 18-55 will either be sold off, or kept if it looks like we may be picking up a second body, TBD right now.

I'll be buying the Tamron 28-75/2.8 as the next lens, unless someone manages to put out a moderately priced 17-70 2.8.
From there, "things get complicated"/unknown. Mostly flip-flopping between the DA* 60-250/4.0 or a Tamron or Sigma 70-200/2.8, with a possible "detour" into a used 55-300 along the way, and possibly a few primes in K or KA mount - 28/35/55/100, and maybe an FA50.
Sorry for kind of intervention. I invested a lot in my own understanding and personal feel of K-mount available long tele photo solutions. The DA 55-300 is a decent lens. Once I even shot a Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) 'The Wall' concert with it. But, boy, how many times, looking at my soft, over sharpened images, I wished to have something better at the time...
When you are buying into just decent solution you may limit yourself and spoil the life time opportunity kind of shot in the future. With DAL 55-300 I lost a few such shots. They are gone forever...
If you are not ready for a long prime, there is a DA*60-250/4. Both others 70-200 are great lenses, as I heard, but eventually you would miss an extra reach. Unfortunately, there is no SDM capable TC available yet. However, with 2-3 attempts to lock focus you can do it with the 1.4X Tamron or 1.5X Kenko TC. It's not for BIF, but pretty decent for a Big Egret, getting a fish. I don't use DA*60-250 with a TC personally. But there is definitely an opportunity to do so.
There is a sample shot and crop, taken from approx. 15-20ft distance with DA*60-250+Tamron 1.4X Pz-AF TC at 350mm total focal length. Judge for yourself.

This yearPentax didn't release a new lens that I wanted to buy. I didn't sell any lenses. I did sell an old K20D and buy two K5 cameras. I own the following Pentax lenses:
DA14
DA15 Ltd
DA21 Ltd
DA35 Ltd
DA 70 Ltd
FA 31 Ltd
FA43 Ltd
FA77 Ltd
DFA 50 macro
DFA 100 Macro
DFA 100 WR Macro
DA*55
DA*200
DA*300
DA17-70
DA*16-50
DA*50-135
DA*60-250

I really hope Pentax will release some new high end lenses or re-release the FA* lenses. Until then I am happy with the lenses I have. Most likely in February I will get a Sigma 500/4.5. Then again I am kind of waiting to see what direction Pentax is heading under Rich ownership.

I bought my K-x at the end of 2010 so everything else I own I bought in 2011. I bought into Pentax system for the DA limited primes but ended up falling in love with F series lenses. The film bodies where all bundled with lenses I wanted. Here is my 2011 list:

Lenses:
F28 2.8
F50 1.7(first AF prime)
F50 2.8 Macro
F100 2.8 Macro
F135 2.8
F35-70 x2 (the 2nd was in a lot)
F70-210
FA28-70 4
FA50 1.4 (bought for cheap to sell, haven't got around to doing so yet)
DA 10-17 FE
Takumar F 28-80(came in lot)
Sears 28 2.8(my first prime)

35mm Bodies:
SF1x2
SF1N
Pz-10

Other
AF540 flash

Good one. You are brave man, if you fired FA 31 Ltd.
I'd say sensible. If you don't use it, sell it. Used ones aren't rare; you can pick up another any time, if you change your mind.

This year my interest in photography really took off. And so did LBA. I thought I was going to buy a K-5; instead I acquired a DA* 200, DA 16-45, a slew of K and M primes ranging from 24mm to 105mm, and a Bokina. I have an A 400/5.6 on the way. Also picked up a K1000 (it was the "rear lens cap" for the Bokina) and an MX (on purpose). Sold nothing. I plan to sell the two lenses that came with the MX, because I already have a copy of each (that should fund the MX plus a CLA job). I'm considering selling some of my AF lenses. I'm still sorting out my wish list.

Got the S-type focusing screen and a Really Right Stuff L-plate for my K10D, because I now plan to wait quite a while longer before upgrading bodies. Oh yeah, had got an RRS ballhead and basic mounting plate earlier in the year.

I succumbed briefly to BBA (bag buying addiction), trying a bunch of bags and buying a fancy sling. Recovered from BBA and sent back the sling; got a simple insert that I now use in a variety of old satchels and backpacks.

i didn't know pentax had made such lens !
Thanks! The K45-125/4 dates back to 1975 when the K series was introduced. There was also a M42 Takumar version released earlier that year.

Hmm, I guess I did do some serious dealing in 2011.

Bought: K-5, Sigma 70/2.8 Macro, Sigma 50-150/2.8, A* 135/1.8, A* 200/4 Macro, Tamron Adaptall 300/2.8 (60B), Sigma 500/4.5

Sold: K20D (2), FA 50/2.8 Macro, A* 200/4 macro, A* 400/2.8, DA*300/4

I'll thin the herd a bit in 2012 but have pretty much shut down the purchasing department.

It's all a trade-off, between what I think is reasonable for a hobby, what my wife thinks is at least somewhat reasonable, discretionary cash vs savings, and any number of (not all inexpensive) other hobbies.

Thanks for the TC shot with the 60-250. The DA 55-300 I mentioned previously would be a temporary but real improvement over the Tamron/Quantaray 70-300 I have now, with either a f/2.8 70-200 or the DA* 60-250 coming as funds allow. A used 55-300 at $250 or so might well be a possibility months before dropping ~1k on the 60-250. I could probably get away with a 1.7x TC on the 70-200/2.8 or a 1.4x with the 60-250/4.0, but am not quite at that decision just yet, and that one will probably become a separate thread as I get closer to dropping that $.

I got one after reading a bunch here about it. It's like a bag full of primes, its easily the sharpest zoom I own.

I am probably more humble than brave in the sense that my capabilities did not match the lens' requirements. I have no shame in admitting that.

If it could have, the FA 31mm Ltd would have fired ME!

Interesting scanning all the purchases and sales (hire and fire).

Selling has not yet entered my vocabulary (I still have the K100D and the K10D)!!

I only bought the 43mm, to go with the 31, 50, and 77mm primes. I did not really plan to become a "prime lover", but I am very happy with one, and then buy another, and another, and another!

In my very humble opinion, zoom lenses are for those in a hurry. For others who savour the art, a bag of primes is like the glue to your model - a critical component that affects the final product according to its selection and use.

I savour using my primes, choosing the right one, creating the image... It's the slowing down and appreciating more that is rewarding me these days as I explore my own creativity fundamentals.

And no, I'm not saying that when we use zoom lenses we're not savouring our activity, I'm just saying that we're usually in a hurry. Try keeping pace swapping your primes out at an airshow...
