2011 saw the DA15, FA31, DA40, DA70, DFA100WR, Samsung 12-24, DA16-50, DA50-135 and the DA60-250.

I've been looking for a FA20 - a focal length I quite like. Bigger priority is a decent flash.

1. Probably a DA 18-135. For two reasons:

Normally I love the primes for the IQ and faster glass. But sometimes I do miss the speed and versatility of a motor driven superzoom. For example: I get the feeling I'm missing a lot of fun shots of my 3 year old daugher. She does pose on command, but the pose holds for less then a second.

A second reason is that I'm extremely careful with my equipment. (Almost approaching paranoia!) I do not changes lenses in moist, rainy or dusty conditions. Having such a lens would be pretty handy then. This would be my first and only lens with it's own motor, and my first and only with WR. So it would would fill up a big gap in my lineup... But I still think it's boring.

2. I've been lusting after a f1.2 prime for a while. But I am on a budget though. And I'm not going to install a split screen of any kind. Moreover, I already have two f1.4's. The FA50 and a Ricoh Rikenon 55. But my gut doesn't listen to logic and says this would be the most fun.

3. A old cheap pentax dslr that I can mod for Infra Red! Preferably a IST or a K100d. Currently I use a 2MP Oly 2020c. A point and shoot from the time IR wasn't filtered out yet. (Yes, it even shoots through various woven materials.) I can easily do handheld IR with it on cloudy days or in the evening... But I would LOVE the option of using my K-mount lenses in IR.

Haha... Who helps me choose what option is best?

Possibly I will buy some lenses that I don't need or want but that are such a bargain that I can't say no

And maybe I will buy one that I do want.

The two most likely candidates are an 18-135WR and a DA40. I have two WR bodies (K20D and K5), but no WR lenses. And I must have a pancake.

Other than that, whatever interesting I find on CL.

Mine is actually a DA18-135WR... But it has to be attached to a K5 (or new flagship prosumer model DSLR)...

If that doesn't happen... I foresee a couple of DA Ltds (21mm & 70mm most likely...)

That is unless the set of FA primes (20mm2.8... 28mm2.8... 35mm2... 50mm1.7) being sold as a set in a fairly local second hand store is still there at the end of Jan when I get my (nearly last) student loan!!

I might be going on an extended trip so I think I will finally get the M100/4macro to complete my compact 3 lens travel kit (DA15/40). I will probably also get an 18-55WR for the trip to have a lightweight zoom to pair with my K200D (with WR).

After that I'll be reducing my collection. If I'm traveling then I won't be able to use them. And I could use the money.

In order of likelihood:

1) Decent ball head and legs
2) K-5 and grip
3) Chuck all my film fetish stuff, get 1), 2) and the three FA Limiteds; never buy anything else ever again as long as I live.
4) 3), minus the self-denial

I would actually like more time and places to go to use the lenses I have. But I will continue to look good deals on fast primes. Nothing specificly targeted right now, but would love to get DA 15, 21, and 300.

What I don't have, but would like:
  • a prime wider than 24mm
  • some real flash gear

What I don't need and can hardly justify, but would like anyway:
  • some of the more coveted K- and A-series primes (K 28/2, K 85/1.8, A 20/2.8, A* 400/2.8)
  • whatever amazing top-end DSLR will replace the K-5
  • more cool Really Right Stuff

To continue acquiring Soviet lenses.
In the immediate future, I am looking for a good copy of a Jupiter 9.

It's wishful thinking but if Ricoh releases a DA* 24-70 2.8, that will be on he top of my list! But in reality I think a K5 would be my next big purchase.
