Great trio bro. Most Pentax users have probably never seen these lenses up close, much less shoot with them.

Well, I guess I've spent too much money and time on acquiring my lense collection, but mush less time using them

I've started a fund for the LTD trio, may take more than a year though (31/43/77) and will keep my eyes open for a FA24 as well. As usual though I will likely be sidetracked by deals on other lenses/cameras/darkroom gear I stumble across. I have little self control on these things

Lba 2012

Hi everybody,
I know for me, I want to buy 2 more Sigma 610 flashes, either a K5 or the KR replacement, a FA77 limited, either the Sigma 24mm f/1.8 or the Samyang 24 mm f/1.4 lens and maybe the Samyang 14 mm f/2.8. Looks like I'll be broke again this year!

My wish list for 2012 is very short and very wallet-destructive:

A sigma 500/4.5 (Pentax has nothing similar to offer) and a matching tripod head !

I have pretty much all I need for shorter focal lenghts so LBA will definitely be subject to/restricted to funds availability and this could well spill into 2013 LBA.

In the last month it's been a Sigma 8-16, Pentax 40mm ltd, and a Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro. Of course, my k20d finally returned after 7 weeks of repair vacation, so I'm thinking a new-to-me body as a spare. Since the $$$ has gone to good glass, maybe a used k10d or another k20d is my next purchase.
ken

p.s. to fit with this lens buying theme, I'm hoping for a Panasonic 20mm 1.7 lens to go with my new to me Panasonic G1.

Probably nothing. I'm not exactly rolling in money here. I still want the 55-300 badly but it's not in the budget. I'm going to try to swing a cheap lighting kit from Amazon and a soft box at some point so I don't have to borrow them all the time for my shoots but otherwise I can't afford to get too ambitious. 2011 was one tight year financially for me and 2012 isn't looking to be much better even with the whole web store thing. So far it's been like pulling teeth getting any sales either through my store or on CL. My photo sessions people are just not keeping their appts half the time, pleading poverty. It's all about a lack of $$$. Everyone is broke and I think everyone I know that has a business is feeling the effects of that.

Just sprung for a new K-r in the sales to replace my late K100DS, now waiting for the postman. Lens, if funds permit, will be one of:

- Samyang 24mm f/1.4 (when it appears, if it appears)
- Sigma 8-16mm (probably this one).

Well frank, I picked up the FA*300 2/8 this winter---it's worth waiting and looking for although frankly I can't demonstrate that it takes
better photos than the older Pentax-A f2.8, but I agree, sets are nice, and the choas of the present Pentax lens lineup is a distraction.

a full family of lenses cosmetically related would stir the LBA juices....

I just ordered a Pentax 17-70 f4 for a walk around lens for my K5 1-3-2012 and I hope to buy a new lens every three months this year.

Yeah, saw your FA*300/2.8, looks like a great copy. The price is a bit out of my budget though Had a few chances to buy the lens for just over 3k USD, but didn't take it because I thought I've been happy w/ the F*300/4.5. Now since I sold most of my junky lenses, only keepping a few good ones, probably be able to afford one, but can't find it in low 3k range anymore

Oh well, don't really need one, just want one, as w/ most of my other lenses.

Rokinon 85/1.4. That's it. I'll use it both the K-5 and GH2. And then I'll wait until Pany/Olympus come out with high quality M43 zooms - fast, constant aperture, parfocal, CDAF optimized. Then I'll go crazy.
B&H has the Vivitar model at $269. In reading the reviews, comments, etc. on that model there are some pluses apparently for getting the Vivitar version and its as cheap now as they come BNIB. Not that I've ever looked at them myself......

I have not bought a lens yet this year and I'm starting to feel the itch. Guess I'm doomed... to enjoy LBA
