@Dave
is it worth owning 1 over the K 55 1.8?
how much did you pay for your copy?
I have a lot of 55mm lenses and like the K55/1.8 the best. It's also really undervalued, and the screwmount versions are even cheaper. I haven't ever compared them directly, just a pure subjective "I like this one better".

The Cosina is very good too. It has an optical aberration (coma?) wide open, but this is more of an interesting effect than a problem. Here it's highlighted:

It is bigger and heavier than the K55/1.8 but really not so large for a superfast lens. The aperture ring doesn't click at half-stops or f1.4, which is a little annoying. I did not have much trouble focusing it, though.

I have a Mamiya and Rikenon 55/1.4 also. Both resemble the Cosina in construction, like how the mount/click stops/aperture ring goes together, and size+weight, except they have only 6 blades. The 55mm filter size bothers me because it doesn't match up with my other lenses.

I am going to dance around the price question because I just decided to sell mine. I think I posted the price when I bought it.

i know K55 is very good but does that mean 55 1.2 isnt? how about thw IQ of the revuenon anyone?
There is no K55/1.2, at least made by Pentax. I think you meant K50/1.2

However, if you need a 55/1.2 in K mount, Porst has one.

This reply has more information about the Revuenon, Cosina, and Porst lenses:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/374079-post20.html

The Revuenon is thus supposed to be the same as the Cosina, which I have and is a great lens, although not necessarily for use in strong light where it gives a strong LoCA. But for low light and bokeh capabilities, it is definitely worth over a 1.8 lens.

My review with sample shots is here:

The Revuenon 55/1.2 is a really fun lens.
I logically evaluated over 1.2 and 1.4 (to the FA50/1.4) over and over again, but once I had the 55/1.2, all doubts about it not being significantly different simply vanished.

A did a teaser in the local forum on this lens.

Congrats.
f1.2 is a class of itself.
I have several photos in my picasa taken by the Yashinon Tomioka 55/1.2, K50/1.2 and A50/1.2 in their respective folders.

Now you definitely need a split focus screen on your Kx, perhaps a set of washers/shims to calibrate the focus screen.
Success rate on-focus-photos-at-f1.2 is quite low to begin with - my case 5% on film days, now 20%-40%.
Do practice and shot a lot. You need only one to get in love with the lens.
