Sigma 50 mm 1.4

Hey again

! So i finally obtained my first prime lens. First of all i want to thank you all who provided me with good sugestions in previus posts

. now i own sigms 50 mm 1.4 what a joy to use

.
Just im worried when i turn on my kamera (k-5) there is some kind of sound, for less then sec. i belive it is from aperture blades, after that all works perfectly, is it ok, or maybe some one have the same thing?

I have purchased the same lens from bhphoto.

It is a beauty and 'sharp' wide opened and even sharper when closed down to 1.8 or 3.2. It draws differently from Pentax 31 FA (not as yellow and contrasty but brighter). Autofocus is spot on.

It is prompt to flare and so the hood stays on.

I don't get the noise with the lens. Mine is silent even when focusing.
Do you get the sound every time you turn on the camera?

yes every time when i turn on the camera there is that sound for less than second, focusing is veary quiet and fast

. if this is nothing realy bad then i can live with it, but you know maybe i need yo exchange lens if this is somethig seriouse.

Just tested with my kit lens, that sound is still there so i supose that this is somethig with camera, never noticed it before.

do you have dust removal on startup? does it shake a little bit?

hmm yes i have dust removal on startup, tried to turn it off, but nothing change. now i noticed that when i start up camera aperture blades closes like from 1.4 to 16 and back to 1.4. so it is definetly something with aperture blades. when i take pictures i dont hear anything maybe because of shutter realise.
soory for such a noobish questions

It's the lever, turn the camera on without a lens and you see it move.

I am still testing this baby. Two pictures from today with Sigma 50 at ISO 80, f1.4.

First picture AF on right eye, indoor light with no sharpening in PP.

Second picture AF on nose, no sharpening in PP.

This lens is sharp at f1.4.
