we need more cheaper lenses pentax

You know what i want to see some newer lenses like the DA 35mm f2.4 AL that was not to much but still got good IQ and still a fast lens. It could be worse it could be f4. Some more of this type of lens should be out there for us people with out the big bucks. I just can't pay 1000.00 bucks for a lens, I would love to be able too, but i will never have that kind of money for that and if i did i would probablly get a new camera body instead. That is what i would like to see pentax come out with. a cheaper but still good quality set of lenses for us poor guys thats all...............

Sigma and Tamron not an option for you?

EDIT: Better yet, you got all of the SMC-A MF lenses at your disposal too. You won't believe how quick you can get accurate focus with those lenses.

I second Sigma too.
They have some sweet primes on the wider end of things(1/4 - 1.8)

Tamron's 17-50 and 28-75 are both well received, cost below $500, and are F2.8, which makes them one of the most budget friendly lenses we have available.

I agree but there are very few lenses that cost $1000. Most of the DA limited are $500ish. There is also the DA40 and FA50/1.4 that are about $350 and are outstanding.

But I think part of the reason that Pentax hasn't brought back more old lens designs in cheap lens bodies is due to the uncertainty of K mount longterm. There are 1000 threads about this but imo it's possible that the entry level DSLR market is going to shift to a mirrorless APSC design. Purely speculative. I'll continue to use my DSLR for awhile but I won't be expecting a lot of new lenses.

i think you have something there i think you could be right about the mirrorless shift i didnt even think about that. If they do drop the k mount i dont know if ill stay with pentax (i really hope they dont kill the k mount).

The DA lenses are very good optically. They are also very competitively priced. The DAL 35 is the start of consumer primes, but don't expect the DAL range to expand very quickly. The DA range is already quite well established and worth the financial investment - after all, you pay for a lens once, and you have its optical brilliance for a lifetime.

I think a cheaper DAL 50/1.7/1.8 would make a lot more people happier. Many users don't want to spend more than $200 for an AF 50mm lens because Canon/Nikon have cheap 50/1.8, end up they have to pay more than $100 for a manual 50mm.

You want excellent lenses for very little money? There are tons of them floating around out there. Fast 50mm or 55mm primes? I can pick them up all day long for about twenty bucks a pop.

No AF though, and not everyone prefers manual...

But speaking of lenses, costly or not, I'm waiting for Pentax to introduce something new....
