(Samyang 24mm 1.4) Soooooo Jak'd; Hurry Up!!!!!

Just so Jak'd Up for the release of this thing, hurry up and get here!!!!

A post on the Facebook Page seems to think that it will be released on March 31st - this date is noted as the user who posted it seems to have had a discussion with the/a Walimex rep who said that version will be available on that date (the 3/31 date). I sent an email to Samyang asking about it - maybe I will get lucky and get a response ...

Anyways, who else is jak'd to get their hands on this thing????

BTW: They added a dedicated specs page to their site for this lens now -> http://www.samyang.pl/index.php/en/samyang-24mm-114-ed-as-umc

I'm going to be keeping my eye on this lens. I have a few other lenses I will be getting first but down the line who knows. A lot depends on the scores.

Please report back with all the juicy details when you get it.

Should be out soon- but where might you buy one?

Also, it's been up in our lens DB since summer!

Ya, I know it's been in the DB, I posted on the original thread about it - its always good to get a little extra excitement going though

As for where to buy one, surely one of the U.S. labels (Vivitar, Rokinon, etc..) will also have it around the release date.

Well, I wasn't excited or even paying attention until I saw your post.
Now I'll have to buy one... Hmmmm.

Adorama and B&H will have it, as usual, under more than just one brand.

Ah, that's quite misleading. I knew that they get rebranded but when I searched BH for "samyang", I got a "we do not carry this brand" message. It should redirect or something instead.

Same here!

And I really that we'll see f/1.4 wides all the way down to 12mm too since this seems really like the gold standard for OOF performance on APS-C.

IMO. a perfect working kit could look something like this:

12mm f/1.4
24mm f/1.4
35mm f/1.4
50mm f/1.4
60mm f/1.4
85mm f/1.4

That would be sheer perfection for a guy like me.

seems samyang already got the 14mm f2.8, 24mm f1.4, 35mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.4, but they all manual focus
plus pentax classic 50mm f1.4

Looks like it's going to be shorter in length than the 14mm f/2.8. This is a good thing. About 3.5 inches long, probably will sit pretty well on the camera. I'll seriously consider this lens, I'm excited for it!

Can't argue with you about that but don't they have the 35/1.4 & 85/1.4 already? We've got the FA50/1.4 which has the added benefit of being AF. The 24mm would be an excellent addition.

I'm interested in this, too, as 24mm would fill a hole in my prime collection. Is there an expected price for this lens?

I know and were so close!
I was able to source out a few others to help fill the quota, though I guess I can't complain considering how little we had only a few years ago in the area.

BTW. I don't mind MF myself, since I do most of my work in manual, though AF is always a welcomed addition.

If this just had AF... I'd be all over it!

MF is great for some things, but most of my shooting is way to fast of action to MF (unless I'd just shoot at f/8).

Still though, this is going to be a really good lens by the looks of things.
