Thanks Kevin, that's kind of you! As you can tell, I'm still battling with the sense that getting an FA Ltd is an end in itself, no matter how I need to crowbar it into my lens lineup....

I have the Tamron 17-50, FA43, and recently acquired FA77

I would really love to have the FA43 up as long as possible, but I tend to have the 17-50 because shooting across a dinning table is simply not possible with the 43.

I also manage to have the M 50 1.7 as well, the OOF area is somewhat creamier than the FA43.

In my experience the 43 OOF area only looks good (IMO) with certain backgrounds, but i just can't stop using it!

The FA Ltds are really my #1 reason going into Pentax system, hence the recent acquire of the FA77( which I really dont need) but for the sake of experiencing the magic

I went through a similar problem, but was weighing between the 43 and da* 55 1.8 even though I have many copies in the 50 and 55 range. I bought the 43 figuring to sell it if I didn't see the benefits. Now... It stays on my camera most of the time. I'll swap it out for wider or longer shots, then it goes back. Not everyone feels the same about the 43, but I don't think I could sell mine now.

My bad, the 43 and 77 is of course possible (but shots will be very up close....which my friends are not too fond of it =P)

Economic point of view, getting the FA ltds either 2nd hand (even non-riduculous first hand price), you could always sell it off at price or even higher in the future.

Even if there's a need to drop price, the lost will not be too great.
