That isn't a problem for me as I own a full metal shop with all the tools, even CNC mills.

Ah, well if you're making them, I'd happily buy one (or two even)!

Well, the Photo Sniper arrived! I was able to take it apart and fix the aperture so that it now works 100%! I'll take some photos of my setup as soon as possible. For now, here is a quick test shot of the moon to see how sharp the lens is and if I put the infinity adjustment back to where it was originally.

This was shot hand held (with the photosniper stock) at 1/125 sec and F5.6 . I can see this setup being ideal for hand holding and being VERY steady. Also this lens is pretty sharp!

And here is a 100% crop of the above image. This was shot at 200 ISO. VERY sharp for a hand held shot at a pretty low shutter speed (for this long of a lens).

More photos of the setup and more test shots to come!

Great shot, it's a wonderful lens. I think I've got another coming my way as well. Do I need two? No.But you can't turn a good deal down.

Here are a few photos from this evening. These were shot with my new Tair 3 300mm F4.5 Preset lens set to F5.6. After shooting all day with this lens, all I can say is that this lens is incredible. Great sharpness, color and bokeh. The rifle stock setup really works well too. Slung it on my shoulder like a rifle while hiking, and it makes for very steady photography with that 4 pound lens.

I wonder if they're usually this good, or if you got a particularly nice copy. Either way, wonderful shots. I just love the lighting.

Thanks! I think the Tair 3 lenses (also known as a photosniper) are considered to be excellent. That is the reason I went looking for one . I've seen other photos taken with this lens and most all are very sharp with good colors. I REALLY like the Astrophotography I've seen using this lens.

Here's the rest of the wildlife photos taken yesturday with my new Tair 3 300mm F4.5 lens (photosniper setup), taken at F5.6.

I came up on a small herd of mostly juvenile mule deer when on the hike. They let me get pretty close (~15 ft.)

Yeah, there is just something about these presets that really make the image stand out. I haven't shot with a "normal" lens going on four months now. At this point I really don't care to shoot anything BUT preset lenses.

Yep, I'd grab one while you can. I might buy another for a just-in-case situation.

The second reason I bought the Tair 3.

I just constructed a barn door tracking mount so I can start making long exposure astrophotos. It isn't quite finished yet, but I couldn't help jerry rigging it to use it for a little while tonight.

I attached my Tair 3 300mm lens and camera to the barn door tracker and here is what I got with my first photo.

It is Orion Nebula taken at F4.5 and a 10 second exposure at 1600 ISO. You can see that it isn't perfect yet. I don't have the tracker fully finished, so it wasn't aligned quite right to Polaris, so the stars are a little oval.

Once everything is working and adjusted right, I should be able to get up to around 5 minute exposures with the tracker. When I can do that, I can stack multiple images to get a hubble-like photo. It will definitely take some experimenting and learning though since this is my first step into astrophotography.

Here is the 10 second exposure. A longer exposure would show much more of the nebula and many colors, this is just my first test image.
