Money to spend

I had a K100D (with 18-55 kit lens) for about one month now and I was looking at purchasing a Tamron 18-250 or a flash and an alternate lens. I like taking photos of the kids indoors and out, but I also like going for walks and taking photos of landscapes, I also like still life. I had a Fuji S6500 and I like the idea of a one lens solution for walkabout. Decision, decisions.

I think either the Tamron 18-250 or the Pentax 18-250 may be a good one len solution in term of convenience. I don't have the above lens so I can't say about the IQ of those zooms. But what I would concern is there a noticeable differences between 18-55 and 18-250 in term of IQ?
If the IQ of 18-250 is not as good as 18-55 within the range, then I would consider to get the DA50-200 in view of its light weigth and inexpensive price.

Thanks for the reply, someone did suggest getting a Tamron 70 - 300 and later on upgrade my kit lens to a sigma 17-70. Would the IQ be that much better than the 18-250?

Just saw a review of Tamron 70-300mm with Pentax K10d, may be you have seen it before.
Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Di macro (Pentax K) - Photozone Review / Test Report
Also for sigma
Sigma AF 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC (Pentax K) - Photozone Review / Test Report

Sigma 17-70 is not a bad choice but you still have to find or decide which tele zoom. How about try to locate more samples pics of 18-250mm for a decision?
Some sample pics from Pentax DA18-250mm

Best regards.
