if the DA 12-28 would be WR, f4 and sharp from the get go, we would have a winner
the limited intrigues me also. f2.8? could this be the ULTIMATE DA limited????

I'm interested in seeing what this DA Limited Zoom is all about. Focal length seems good. If it's a Limited, then the build quality should be good. But the Limiteds, other than the FA's, are not particularly fast for primes. What will the max aperture be?

There is an autofocus teleconverter on there!
i would like to see if it is both SDM and Screw Drive but it is still 1-2 years away

p.s. does anyone think the announced DA* zoom might be a FF standard lens? seems to be in that range
it wouldn't be a DA* if it was full frame, they would need something different to designate it. since they already have a 55/1.4 what about a 50/1.2

550 is drastically better than 400-500 and enough for APS-C - 825 mm
550*1.4 TC = 770 mm (hello 77 mm) 770*1.5=1155 mm
yes, I'd be interested too in a 500 something, especially if it works with a TC.

Hoooochie mama, I'd like that. A WR ultra-wide to wide-normal, and if it has minimal distortion on the 20-28 end, I'll get that instantly with a k-5.

I thought they have found the fastest and reliable motor (DC), why go back to da*? 15-85 would be sweet, and more wr lenses please. This is Pentax competitive edge.

Doesn't mean they won't use the dc motors on the da*

I think it's quite exciting; pity that some of us (like me) have to wait till 2013 (or later)

What I see (focal lengths are estimations)
DA 50mm standard lens; companion for the DA35/2.4AL
DA18-250 revived; maybe with DC motor
DA20-40Ltd; can be a very interesting standard zoom; maybe f/3.2 or so
DA120-360; this might be a reasonable fast lens to be combined with the new DA rear converter
DA12-28; WR replacement for the trusty DA12-24?
DA*16-85; replacement or addition to DA*16-50 (using DC motor?)

DA550 for those of us that have been complaining about the lack of a long tele Did you people already pre-order

I also think the roadmap implies some bad news for the FF fans; all are DA, no FA or DFA.

+/- 1-2 mm at wide angle and +/- 10-20 mm at long telephoto...IMO

see roadmap bars...It's just my guess.

*excited*

I'm hoping the new 50mm is a f/1.2 FF lens...

This update added pretty much zero information to 3 years of speculation, except that the TeleCon is back on.

And where is the FA 50/1.4!?!?

Not a great lens for Canon. Tries to do too much at either end with terrible vignetting wide and quite soft long.

Interesting that the converter is shown as plain DA, not DA*. Would be a pity if it didn't support SDM. Of course, the lack of a * may only signify no weather sealing.
