I can also vouch for the Fujinon EBC lenses, especially the Fujinon EBC 50/1.4, I would even rate it above the Super Tak 50/1.4. The main issue with the Fujinon lenses is that there is no A/M switch so you would have to superglue the dia pin else it will always stay wide open. The mount would need to be filed as well, nothing too difficult though.

I've got the SMC Takumar 55mm F1.8 (M42 mount). What an amazing lens, and I love the focal length. Clearly Pentax agreed with 55mm being a wonderful APS-C focal length when they decided on the DA*55. I think considering how cheap the 55mm's can be, everyone should have one in their camera bag!

I own the KMZ Helios-44M 58/2 as well as the Pentax-K 55/1.8 and Auto-Rikenon 55/1.4 and Mamiya-Sekor 55/1.8.

All four of these "little longer than normal" selections are great lenses with the Pentax being the best overall, but with the Helios having a distinct charm on APS-C (great center sharpness at all apertures). The Rikenon has a special charm too, but truth be told, I like the shorter/slower Auto-Rikenon 50/1.7 a bit better As for the M-S...for some reason it sees little use
