Another two lenses - DA* 16-50 and Super-Takumar 35/2

Someone needs to stop me. My New Year's Resolution for 2008 is to spend a quarter of what I spent last year on camera gear. Before 2008 rolled around though, I managed to acquire another two lenses - the DA* 16-50 and the Super-Takumar 35/2. The first was "unfortunately" in stock and at the cheapest price I've seen it at a local shop. The second I acquired from a forum member.

So here are some first shots:

DA16-50

1/50s f/2.8 at 50.0mm iso800

1/13s f/2.8 at 21.0mm iso800

1/1000s f/4.5 at 50.0mm iso100

Super-Tak 35/2

1/100s at 35.0mm iso320 (pretty sure f2)

1/100s at 35.0mm iso160 (definitely f2)

1/50s at 35.0mm iso800 (also f2)

You can tell that I haven't gotten very far from home with the 35 (the tennis ball's not mine, but is in the gutter just outside my house). Hoping for more time and more photo-ing in the new year!

Congrads on these two lenses, Betsy.

The bokeh came out so beautifully from your test shots. You always have the ability to create simple composition with artistic intent - a pleasure to view your photographs!

LOL, that should leave you with wide leeway, don't you think?

Nice grab of the tennis ball sitting in the gutter...hmmm, I seem to have seen one of those recently somewhere...

Thanks James - I like fast lenses, so getting two in a week was nice.

Thanks - as Sean points out, I did have "inspiration".

Yes, a quarter of my 2008 expenditures should provide me plenty of leeway!

The last tennis ball I saw had some beautiful golden light. We haven't seen much of that lately here. It's been wet!
